After a proud history going back many years, faced with a dwindling membership the Napier West Rotary Club very reluctantly decided to disband the club in July 2004. However, determined not to lose contact with each other they have formed a casual "Napier West Old Boys and Girls Dinner Group", whereby past members and friends meet casually for dinner on Thursday evenings where possible. Members are kept in contact with a small newsletter put together by Harry Lawson, the "leader" of the group. Ahuriri Rotary has offered the group space on its own website, and here we will publish newsletters, information and pictures as they come to hand. 28 August 2006 11 September, 2006 Napier West Oldboys (& girls) news Hello everyone Another full table last week and plenty of nattering as usual. There is no doubt that a large part of the success of the 'Dinner Group' is our hosts Bev & her team. Nothing is too much trouble to them and it is always "service with a smile". Thanks to their support we are now in our third year and it is not often we get the opportunity to repay our gratitude for what we have received during that time , that is not until now. If you read your last "letter" you will know that Bev & her team are organizing a "tea dance" and personally I think they deserve our full support by making every effort to attend to insure it is a great success don't you think?. Just a reminder of the details: When: Sunday October 1st. Time: 5 p.m. to 9p.m. Cost: $15 ( yes only fifteen dollars and that includes the meal & music) Where: The R.S.A. ( where else of course) The only conditions are that all tickets must be bought in advance there will be no door sales and it is strictly limited to "first come first served" Bev is happy to set aside a couple of tables for us so we can enjoy good company, food & music. Where & when can you buy the tickets? ----- Next Thursday when we meet or just pop in to the R.S.A. during the day. What if you do not have a partner or do not dance? No problem, just enjoy the company, food & the music & there is sure to be someone of the opposite ( or same?) gender who would be pleased to be asked to dance. See you next Thursday and don't forget to bring extra for the "Tea dance" tickets" Any questions give me a call at 8357673 Cheers Harry Lawson |
