Big Breakfast Trial

24 April 2005

Members of the Ahuriri Rotary Club carried out a trial of the proposed Big Breakfast to find out if the menu was OK and if the cooks were up to the task.
Well, both of these came out on tops, with only a few minor alterations to be made, but, oh dear, Napier's normally superb weather let us down this day. After a beautiful Saturday, and a fine and clear night, the front came through and the heavens opened at 7:15am, less than two hours before take off.
But, believers that we are, we knew that the weather would improve, and inprove it did, to such a remarkable degree that we were able to go ahead with the breakfast at 9am as originally planned.
The odd very light shower did not worry us too much, and despite a cold but light southerly blowing the cooks managed to provide a scrumptious breakfast to those hardy soles who had purchased tickets for the occasion.
We all had a good time, as the pictures below show, well topped off with a walk along the Rotary Walkway
Masterminded by Max Patmoy, and with all procedures well timed and documented we'll be sure to make a great success of the main event later this year.
